Photo restoration is an art form and I am thankful for the ability to restore old photographs. I have studied several software programs for the last eight years. My interest began when my mother gave me all of the old family photos, some in need of restoration. I felt restoring them would be a wonderful legacy to leave to our children. Old photos are worth preserving. Photos can be restored to look like new, no matter how badly they are damaged. I can remove red eye and background clutter, lighten or darken, and repair tears and cracks. I can combine photos and/or artwork, making collages of different items. Faded, damaged or deteriorated photos can be made to look like new. I can recreate a person's face, especially if some features are present.

The photo below had hung on a sunny wall for thirty years. It was terribly faded and had shades of purple in the photo. I converted the picture to gray scale and then recolored the whole photo.

The watercolor paintings on the picture below were taken from notecards that my mother-in-law had painted. I scanned each card separately, took the flowers off the cards and made the collage that fits in an 8x10 frame. This is in remembrance of Jessie E. Mann. And it will be a legacy for my children and grandchildren.
